Enhancing the quality and overall comfort, a brand new kitchen and flooring are currently being installed (different compared to the photos) as well as a further improvement of the bathroom. In addition, an energy efficiency upgrade is also being realized this month (energy label A). It is a fully furnished apartment and part of a building with a national monument status as a former Dutch East Indies (VOC) warehouse which was originally constructed in 1650. It has a convenient yet quiet city centre location being within walking distance of the Nieuwmarkt and Waterlooplein. Another bonus is the presence of an elevator. Following a gated entrance, the elevator or stairs can be used to head up to the second floor where the apartment is accessed. After entering, there is an L-shaped hallway which leads to the living room and kitchen. Directly to the right is the spacious bedroom. Doors can be opened to the right for the sun and a breeze to come in. To the left there is a large wardrobe closet from wall to wall. Adjoining the bedroom is the bathroom which comes with a rainshower and dual wash basins. Underneath there is room for towels and toiletries. The very large living room runs from halfway the apartment to the front and overlooks both the street and canal below. The thick beam structure really stands out and is present throughout the apartment giving it that typical Amsterdam character. The open kitchen in the left corner is equipped with a built-in fridge/freezer combination along with a dishwasher, combi oven and a gas cooker. It will be an open end date rental agreement (model A) with minimum duration of 12 months and the deposit equals two months’ rent. Flat sharing and keeping pets is not allowed. The apartment is located in one of the oldest parts of city centre Amsterdam. Within walking distance there is a daily market for groceries, convenience stores and even a fitness club. When in need of public transport, both the metro and tram have stops close to the Waterlooplein and Nieuwmarkt heading to the Central Station and beyond.
